    2. PMT Scribe Academy

A medical scribe is trained to be in the room with the doctor and patients and create real time medical records during the visit. Medical assistants and transcriptionists are not. Scribes work in various settings such as emergency departments, small to medium doctors offices, and other facilities.

     3. Cancer Research Opportunity Summer 2023 , Application Deadline :  February 1st

The  Pediatric Oncology Education (POE) Program  offers a unique opportunity for pre-doctoral students preparing for careers in the biomedical sciences, medicine, and pharmacy to gain biomedical and oncology research experience. Students participate in basic or clinical oncology research, core lecture series designed specifically for them, as well as research and clinical conferences. All participants make a PowerPoint presentation on their research project and submit a report on their research project written in the style of a journal in which their faculty mentor publishes. The COVID-19 vaccine is a requirement of participation in our POE program.

 St. Jude Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences offers training in leading-edge scientific fields paired with unique mentoring in the St. Jude clinical experience. Highly motivated POE students will have the opportunity to be considered for admission to the St. Jude Graduate School upon completion of their undergraduate degree.All POE program applicants must already have research experience at the time they apply. Applicants must be United States citizens, non-citizen nationals, or possess a visa permitting permanent residence in the United States (required by the funding agency). All must be in at least their college sophomore year of college when they apply. POE medical students spend a minimum of 10 weeks in the program. The minimum tenure requirement for all others is 11 weeks. All POE applicants must have an undergraduate GPA of at least 3.40 (on a 4.0 scale) in math and science (biology, chemistry, and physics) and at least a 3.40 overall. Participants in our program will receive a $600/week subsistence allowanceFully furnished group housing will be provided at no cost for non-local participants.

       4. The Cleveland Clinic's MOST Fellowship


The Cleveland Clinic’s MOST Fellowship is now Accepting Applications!

The Cleveland Clinic Foundations Clinical Post-baccalaureate program is accepting applications for the 2023-2024 Cohort starting November 1st! In partnership with Stanford University, the MOST Fellowship is a 12 month program designed to provide exceptional clinical experience and professional development to students while strengthening their applications to graduate schools – acting as a Medical Scribe in clinic with a Physician Mentor. The most recent MOST Fellowship cohort had an 88% acceptance rate into medical school.

Students complete 24 hours per week of scribing and medical observation with their assigned clinical preceptor in clinic. Other optional experiences included in the MOST fellowship are: 

v  Shadowing in other medical specialties

v  Conducting research in any specialty of interest

v  Multiple group volunteering projects throughout the year

v  MCAT tutoring

v  Experiences in state-of-the-art simulation lab workshops

v  In person and virtual clinical workshops

v  Medical school site visits and interview prep

v  Ability for paid part time opportunities within the Cleveland Clinic

v  Letters of recommendation

v  MOST Fellow Alumni Peer Mentor for Application Support
