Research Opportunities
Air Pollution Research
Dr. Adam Seal from Kinesiology and Public Health is looking for students to help with a research project examining the effect of air pollution from the Oceano Dunes on health in surrounding areas. Previous research indicates off-roading vehicles have reduced air quality in the region, however, no study has linked poor air quality to frequency of respiratory health issues. Considering the controversial nature of the issue, data examining health issues is crucial to the debate. This project can be used for independent study/senior project course credit. Students looking for experience in research projects who are also studying air pollution, environmental engineering, and/or public health are needed. Please contact Dr. Seal at adseal@calpoly.edu for more information and permission numbers.
