Pacheco Elementary School in San Luis Obispo is looking for pre-nursing volunteers to assist in their school's nurse's office. They have hands-on opportunities on the following days and times starting now and ending June 9, 2022:
Mondays from 9:30 AM - 2:50 PM
Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 AM - 2:50 PM
About the position:
We have a school nurse on Wednesdays and Fridays, and have nursing needs on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the school day. We serve about 15 students a day with things like minor scrapes and cuts, head injuries, bloody noses, stomach aches, and menstrual issues. The children we serve are in preschool through 6th grade and range in age from 4 to 12 years old. About half our student population speaks Spanish and we provide translation when needed for nursing issues.
