The Behavioral Health Department is committed to reduce disparities, improve health access, and furthering a system of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion strategies in service provision and at an organizational level. The mission is to serve all individuals in our community affected by mental illness and/or substance abuse through culturally inclusive, diverse, strength-based programs centered around clients and families to improve emotional and physical health, safety, recovery, and overall quality of life.

 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion – Cultural Competence Data Analysis & Reporting Intern 

This is an intern, hourly paid position under the Behavioral Health Quality Support Team Division. The DEI - CC Data Analysis and Reporting Intern is responsible for the following:

 • Collect behavioral health data for the Cultural Competence Plan and support its development;

 • Coordinate analysis and report DEI – Cultural Competence training data for the Behavioral Health Department and its contracted partners on a yearly basis and maintain a log;

 • Coordinate and provide support to the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee’s goals and objectives;

 • Provide support to the work and strategies built within the DEI Committee’s workgroups; 

• Provide administrative support in completing organizational level revision of policies and procedures, training activities, and internal strategies; 

• Strategize time management and appropriate task completion; including creating templates and formulas to produce reporting as required; 

• Other responsibilities will include attending staff meetings, designing and completing administrative projects individually. 

Job Duties: 

DEI - Cultural Competence: The intern will develop and maintain a log of all contractors completed training records for DEI Cultural Competence requirements as directed by state regulations. 

DEI Committee – Cultural Competence: Under direction of the DEI Program Manager, the intern will work in close collaboration with members of the DEI Committee to create the meeting agendas and complete meeting minutes and offer support to various specialized subcommittees regarding policies and trainings. 

DEI Leadership: The intern will have the opportunity to work on areas that will impact organizational change from a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens by offering research-based recommendations and support various divisions within the Behavioral Health Department. Skills and Competencies

 • Background in Ethnic Studies, Political Science, Public Policy, Business Administration, and/or Statistics 

• Personal and professional passion for justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion as a driven force for social change

• In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and popular online platforms 

• Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and report 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills 

• Excellent qualitative analysis and reporting
