Call for Workshop Proposals
The workshop proposal application for Change the Status Quo 2022, Cal Poly's 20th annual social justice leadership conference, is due in THREE DAYS!
We would like to invite interested students, clubs, faculty, staff, and local community organizations/members to submit workshop proposals to present a workshop on one of the following themes:
  • Environmental Justice
  • Racial Justice
  • Leadership and Service as Activism
  • Intersectionality
  • Gender & Sexuality
  • Socioeconomic Justice
  • Jewish Culture/Antisemitism

Completed proposal applications should be emailed to serviceinaction@calpoly.edu no later than THIS SUNDAY, Jan. 23rd, at 11:59 pm. Look out for more info on attending the conference, which will be held on Feb. 26th!
Volunteer Service Fair
Stop by Dexter Lawn next Tuesday 1/25 anytime from 11 am - 1 pm to meet with some awesome organizations in the community who are in need of volunteers! This is a great networking opportunity and a way to get involved with the SLO community outside the Cal Poly bubble.
Alternative Breaks
There are only TWO MORE Alt Breaks info sessions happening for the New Orleans spring break service trip! You must come to one of the info sessions if you're interested in going on the trip. Email our center coordinator Brad at bkyker@calpoly.edu with any pressing questions.
Volunteer Matchmaking
Introducing a new program at the Center for Service in Action: volunteer matchmaking! We are moving away from planning large one-time events, and are transitioning to a model in which we match individual students with nonprofits in the community so they can achieve their service goals.
Whether you are passionate about a cause and want to get involved in the community, or you simply have a service requirement to fill, stop by our office (Building 52, Room E22) anytime M-F during business hours. We can sit down with you to help determine which organizations might be the best fit for you depending on your interest and availability. We will get you the resources you need!
Walk-ins are welcome anytime, or email serviceinaction@calpoly.edu and we can set up a time for a consultation.
