2021 Free Kaplan or Altius Test Prep Course Essay Contest

 The CSM Student Services/Pre-Health Advising Office is pleased to give away the following:

Two free Kaplan Test prep certificates to be used to prepare for an exam relevant to one of the health professional graduate programs (MCAT, DAT, OAT, PCAT, General GRE). These certificates are intended for an on-site, classroom-anywhere or on-demand delivery options (however there are no on-site options in San Luis Obispo). The KAPLAN certificates must be redeemed by December 31, 2021, and are intended for someone planning to take the exam in 2021-22 and who will be ready to apply to their professional program in 2022. Five partial (50% off) Altius Elite MCAT seven week courses valued at $2499 that can be used anytime in the 2021-2022 cycle. The out of pocket cost to you is $1249.00. To apply for these certificates, please complete the following application, including a 300-500 word essay answering the following questions: "Why are you interested in the health career of your choice?" and "What have you done to prepare for applying to your professional program?" For assistance with reviewing your essays, please contact the writing center. You will also be asked to submit contact information for a Cal Poly faculty reference. If you have a resume, you will have an option to upload it. Refer to career services if you need assistance with a resume. A resume is not required, but can help the selection committee in making a final decision.

Applicants will be reviewed by quality of essay, scholarship (GPA & faculty reference), resume of experiences (if applicable), and demonstration of financial need as determined by the financial aid office. Financial need is not a requirement for applicants, however demonstration of need is a factor considered in the selection process.
