Therapy Aid & Personal Care Assistant Positions Available

See below for descriptions of two available paid positions, as advertised through the KPH Department.

Therapy Aide
"One of our KPH faculty, Dr. Pat Hosegood Martin, has a neighbor who is in need of some therapy assistance and positive motivation for her elderly grandfather who lives with her family.  The grandfather has qualified for a few visits with in-home therapy, and the therapist has suggested that a KPH student could be able to assist once the therapy sessions have ended.  The selected student would be taught exercises by the therapist and will work with the grandfather two to three times per week at their home.  Pay is $20 per hour, the hours flexible; at least two times per week.  Please reach out to Dr. Hosegood Martin (pmartin@calpoly.edu) if interested, and she will forward your interest and information to her neighbor Danielle.  Anticipated start date, June 1. Thank you so much for considering this opportunity."

Personal Care Assistant
"A local Cal Poly Alum and former SLO City Firefighter is looking to hire a reliable, caring, and fun student as a caregiver/personal assistant. Many KPH students have worked for Mike in the past and greatly enjoyed the experience. Duties involve driving to appointments, assisting with physical therapy, food prep, running errands, and having fun. No prior experience is necessary. The position is great for those interested in gaining experience in physical therapy. Year-round employment is available if desired, with flexible 3-6 hour shifts between 8am-5pm Monday through Sunday. The position pays $15-17 per hour, with food provided on the days you work. To apply, email your resume to mwardslo@hotmail.com or call Mike Ward at 805-801-3640 for more information."
