Midwestern University (MWU) is a healthcare university that has (for 20 years) offered students a “second chance” through their Special Master’s Programs (SMPs) in Biomedical Sciences. We offer two such programs: a 1-year (9-month) Master of Arts (MA) program and a 2-year Master of Biomedical Sciences (MBS) Program. Both are full-time programs. The MA program is a coursework-only program and the MBS program involves a year of coursework and a year of research in the lab to complete a research thesis project.Due to the curriculum and rigor of our programs, graduates from our program have been very successful (85+ %) in getting into professional schools within a year of graduation. This includes professional programs at MWU as well as universities around the country in medicine, dentistry, podiatry, optometry, PA, PT, pharmacy, perfusion, Ph.D., and others.
