Looking for a job in healthcare for Winter, Spring, or Summer? Garden House Morro Bay is an Alzheimer's care facility that loves to employ Cal Poly students and is a short, but scenic 15-minute drive from campus. As a caregiver, you would earn direct patient care hours by helping the residents with their ADL's, such as getting dressed and ready for the day. Between meals you can read with them, engage them in light exercise, or just hold their hand. There are also kitchen positions available. For graduate programs, these hours can count towards your patient care hours! You can also be trained on the job to be a Medication Technician Assistant which comes with additional responsibilities and pay.
