Cal Poly Dream Center Upcoming Events: Undocu-Week and Undocu-issues

 Undocu-Week:

The Dream Center is hosting Undocu-week from October 12th - 16th. Undocu-week is a week full of events and dialogues centered around discussing undocu-issues, uplifting undocumented student voices, and engaging members from our community and allies. Each day is centered around a unique theme that embodies the diversity of the undocumented identity and realities of navigating the world while being undocumented. Existing while being undocumented means to be: cultivating, trailblazing, boundless, innovative, and joyous.

Want to show your support for undocumented students? Here are ways you can:

  1. Download their Undocu-week Zoom background
  2. Share the Dream Center's website and flyers!
  3. Follow @calpolydreamcenter on Instagram and Facebook and check out their website
  4. Join their social media campaign by downloading and completing the undocu-week instagram template. Fill out the flyer showing why you support undocumented students and submit it here. They will feature the posts on their IG! They encourage individuals, clubs, departments, and everyone to join! Direct message your templates through Instagram or send them via this form.

Undocu-issues:

If you are too excited to wait for undocu-week, they also have upcoming dialogue opportunities this Thursday. The Dream Center is hosting its first Undocu-Issue event: Policing the Undocumented: Facing Fear, ICE, and Deportations this Thursday, October 8th from 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. This discussion will be led by Dr. David Hernandez, associate professor of Latina/o Studies at Mount Holyoke College, and will be a great opportunity to dive deeper into how this affects undocumented immigrants.
