A fourth-year Sociology student, Rebecca Fox, is working on her Senior Project and is looking for students who would like to share their stories. Her project involves starting a magazine on campus called The Subaltern (sociologically meaning the "othered"). The magazine hopes to reach students on our campus that do not feel as if their voices are heard, giving them a platform to share their stories. Their focus is on unheard stories from our campus; whether this involves race, ethnicity, class, gender identity, mental health, culture, or any unique part of one's identity or experience. This can include personal narratives, art pieces, poems, etc. The goal of sharing these stories is to grow our empathy and to help our student body celebrate diversity and grow stronger by sharing stories.
