Research: Princeton University is seeking applicants for Research Specialist Position

Overview
Princeton University's Department of Molecular Biology seeks applicants for a Research Specialist position to join a laboratory focused on studying host response to human hepatotropic infections, including hepatitis viruses and flaviviruses. The successful candidate will work with the P.I. and members of the lab to design and perform experiments with a particular focus on the analysis of host responses in humanized mouse models.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Laboratory rodent care and handling
  • Maintaining and breeding of transgenic mouse colonies
  • Rodent survival surgeries
  • In vivo luminescence imaging 
  • Quantification of pathogen load
  • Tissue culture and lab maintenance work


Qualifications:
A strong background in science and a bachelor's degree is required. Additional in vivo study experience from coursework and/or internships is a plus. Optimally, the candidate has demonstrated experience with laboratory rodent care and handling. Math and computer proficiency, along with meticulous record-keeping is required. Must be highly motivated, a team player, able to work independently, and have excellent written and oral communication skills. The finalist will be required to pass a background check.
