The purpose of the Baylor College of Medicine's annual Diversity Admissions Symposium is to introduce students from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented in medicine and science, first-generation, non-traditional, and sexual orientation and minority groups, to Baylor College of Medicine as well as support and encourage these students to pursue medical, health professions, or biomedical sciences careers. The event includes a student panel, speakers on admissions pathways, health equity and caring for underserved populations, and skill development breakout sessions covering:

In addition, selected attendees applying for the upcoming admissions cycle will be given priority for an opportunity to participate in a mock interview with faculty and staff experienced with medical school, graduate school of biomedical sciences, and school of health professions admissions. Slots will be based upon availability of faculty and staff interviewers.
The event is to be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020, and the deadline to apply is Sunday, March 15, 2020.
