Position Details:

General Purpose: Coordinate patient care with physician (MD,DO) / non-physician provider (PA,NP), give medication pursuant to physician/non-physician provider, order and assist with administrative/front office duties that facilitate patient care

-Solid data entry as we are a (mostly) paperless office
-Knowledge of medical coding, medical issues and terminology
-Computer skills including knowledge of relevant software

Main Duties (Front and Back office):
-Start and calibrate all machines each morning per MA schedule
-Pre-visit planning/chart prep
-Huddle with provider to discuss needs/challenges of the day
-Vital signs, rooming patients
-Perform and document point of care testing
-Telephone triage per telephone policy
-Perform nurse visits
-Referrals/prior authorizations - assure all urgent referrals are done by end of day
-Autoclave equipment per autoclave checklist
-Schedule office visits and procedures
-Update patient insurance information and ensure EHR verification are complete
-Assist with inventory of medical and office supplies
-Electronic charting, record filing, labeling
-Personal, provider, absent MA, practice and medical records, clinical inbox duties
-Stock room exams and offices per lab review policy
-Wipe down surfaces of exam rooms, equipment, door handles, etc. of all exam rooms, office area
-Tidy kitchen/bathroom and gather trash to back porch if needed
-Organize samples and patient information closet
-Turn off/unplug electrical equipment/lamps that do not need to be plugged in over night
-Maintain CPR certification
-Maintain knowledge of and comply with established policies and procedures, including OSHA-Blood-borne Pathogen Standards, OSHA-Hazardous Chemical Communication Standards, and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act

Education and Experience:
CMA Certification preferred but willing to consider applicant with 2 years experience.

Physical Demands: 
Work may require sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time; also stooping, bending, and stretching. May view computer screens for long periods of time. Occasionally moving items no more than 25 lbs. Work will also require typing and use of telephone , copier, fax, and other office equipment.
