Article: "National Women Physicians Day: Read about 10 inspiring women in osteopathic medicine"

With National Women Physicians Day just around the corner (February 3rd), "The DO" contributor Rose Raymond highlights the inspiring stories of 10 women in osteopathic medicine.

Some of the recognized women include:
  • Chelsee Greer, DO, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma at age 13. "Many years later, she became a DO. Last year, she landed a prestigious oncology fellowship in Texas. The pediatric cancer patient has become a pediatric cancer physician."
  • Carisa Champion, DO, JD, MPH, who, after obtaining three postgraduate degrees, "remains a passionate advocate for osteopathic medicine and improving public health."
  • Sohayla Rostami, DO, who "has been working with the Iranian Health and Medical Education Ministry to help create connections between the United States' and Iran's medical communities. Osteopathic physicians can practice medicine in Iran, but they must use the MD title. Dr. Rostami wants to change that."
